We are very proud to live and work in a region that puts such a high focus on sustainability and ambitions to be zero carbon by 2038.
The GM Green Summit has been a wonderful flagship event for sparking conversations, highlighting key issues and, most importantly, encouraging businesses and individuals to take action. We are delighted that the decision was made to go ahead with the 2020 Summit in a virtual format, from Monday 21st to Thursday 24th September. Elevate GM will be watching and live tweeting through the Summit and hosting two sessions.
Our roundtable (Going Green: is your business doing enough?) is chaired by our co-founder and GM Green City board member, Ilona Alcock, and brings together business leaders from a range of industries to discuss trends and challenges. Key themes around generational change, transparency and localisation are brought out alongside practical tips on how every business can move towards a greener future. The speakers are: Dennis O’Higgins – Business Development Leader, Slalom; Kat McGettigan – Head of Manchester, Grayling Communications; Melissa Bell – Sustainable Procurement Manager, YPO; Charlie Tomlinson – Head of Construction, Environment & Engineering, Kuits Solicitors; Scott Hadden – Chief Experience Officer, Mark Bratt Travel and Katie Robson – Co-Founder, Elevate GM.
Ilona also secured an interview with John Whalley, Strategic Director of Use.Space. The inspiring discussion covers sustainable design and workspaces, the importance of collaboration and supporting innovative problem solvers.
Keen to ensure the conversations around sustainability and the green economy continue, we will be hosting regular webinars and interviewing leading experts.
