Wood Street Mission has launched their Christmas appeal and they need your support more than ever.

COVID 19 looks set to impact to volume of toys being donated this year as many offices remain deserted. Wood Street Mission has always been able to support every family that have turned to them during their Christmas appeal. We know this year will be tough but we can’t let 2020 be the first year that families are left without gifts for their children. 

Here at Elevate GM, we have offered to help Wood Street Mission by reaching out to our network and sharing the ways that businesses and individuals can support.

Wood Street Mission, the Manchester and Salford children’s charity founded in 1869, has been providing Christmas support to low income families in the region for over 150 years, ensuring that every child, no matter what their circumstances, wakes up on Christmas day with something special to open and a smile on their face.

In 2019, Wood Street was able to provide over 11,000 toys to 4000 children in less than three weeks, thanks to the generosity of local people and businesses, and the hours put in by the charity’s army of volunteers.

The charity is issuing an urgent call out for donations of toys for children of all ages. Donations can be made via the amazon wishlists below, by delivering new, packaged toys to Wood Street MIssion HQ or to a range of city centre drop off points listed on the Wood Street Website.
