A Manchester marketing agency, that was incorporated three weeks before lockdown, is celebrating its first anniversary with an impressive set of financial accounts.
Co&co recorded exceptional sales during one of the worst economic crises of all time. Owner and founder, Jordan Stachini, believes this is down to an honest and close working relationship with clients. The business model delivers strategies based around measurable, return on investment activity and collaborates with other expert marketing specialists for execution.
Jordan Stachini, owner co&co, said: “‘When I made the decision to start co&co back in February 2020, I had no idea what was round the corner. After nearly ten years of experience under my belt as an in-house marketer, I know first-hand that money is won and lost in the marketing strategy. I truly believe that there is a gap in the market for a new kind of marketing agency – a hybrid model that focuses on great consultancy and utilises the best in the business to execute strategies.
“Our gross profit for our first year is projected to be in excess of £86,000. Given everything, I am incredibly proud of what co&co has achieved during a difficult year for small businesses – old and new. Looking ahead, I’m very excited about what the future holds; with a number of contracts and projects already in place we are on track to hit a six-figure gross profit by the end of this year.”
co&co’s ethos, whose clients are spread across many sectors, including property, health and professional services, was born out of two beliefs; one, that strategy must always be built on client needs, not agency services; two, if it’s not measurable and best value in terms of budget, it doesn’t belong in any plan. Stachini believes staying true to these principles and dogged determination has led to a successful first year in business.
Jordan Stachini continued: ‘I am always very open and honest about co&co’s model. I believe that the full-service marketing agency model is outdated. The best creative minds do not all sit under one roof. In my experience businesses are forced to either work with one agency – settling for average work across the board because they can’t be a master of everything – or collaborate with the best specialists that drains in-house resource juggling multiple agencies.
“At co&co we play to our strengths, I call it a ‘professional plate spinning service’! I don’t aspire to offer everything in house – over my career I’ve worked with some of the best people in the marketing world and can call on them to bring strategies to life. Our model means we can be dynamic in our approach and shape our plans around what our clients actually need. It is much more efficient long-term.”
co&co is passionate about contributing to the future of the industry as well. From day one the business has actively supported the next generation of marketeers, volunteering time to help university students develop their skills and advise on standing out from the crowd in what is possibly the toughest time for entry level graduates in the industry. Stachini believes it’s going to remain tough for juniors to get positions post-covid and believes it’s a duty for those experienced in the sector to support the next generation.
Stephen Beech, CEO of Beech Properties, commented: “Having worked with co&co now for six months, I can honestly say that all of their plans, recommendations and suggestions are based around what is best for us, our business and our growth plans. One of co&co’s core beliefs is in ensuring that we are future proofed as a business – the roadmap we are working on together for the next 12 months delivers on what we want to achieve as we move into what is a very exciting phase for us.“In my opinion, co&co is instrumental to the success of Beech Holdings, they are outstanding and I cannot recommend them highly enough.”
One of co&co’s strategic marketing partners, MadeByShape’s co-founder Andy Golpy, said: “I’ve worked with Jordan on numerous projects; she is the best in her field and the best marketing person I’ve worked with ever, by a country mile. Her no messing, straight to the point approach is so refreshing and sets her and co&co apart from the rest.”
